The EMPI Stainless Steel Hood Handle Guard installs behind the hood handle on 1954 through 1967 VW Beetles. The hood handle guard helps protect the paint next to the handle from getting scratched by fingernails and fingers reaching in to open up the hood. A gasket is included to help prevent the guard from scratching the paint.
